Medical Devices Mechanical Engineer – SolidWorks – Cambridge
A growing Medical Devices group is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the development of life-saving Medical Devices. Based in South Cambridgeshire, you will utilize SolidWorks for the CAD design of new Medical Devices.
You will collaborate with inventors, physicists, engineers, and scientists to create these life-saving medical devices, and your CAD design skills will be crucial in the development of these innovative Medical Devices.
Ideally, your past or current experience would involve developing medical devices to ISO 13485 standards. However, if your experience lies in CAD design for the life sciences, pharmaceuticals, scientific instrumentation, or wearable tech sectors, we would still like to hear from you.
This role will not be solely computer-based. We require you to have a hands-on engineering element to your mechanical engineering skills, particularly for tasks such as jig assembly, testing, instrument usage, and other essential skills for prototyping and testing the new technologies you will develop.
Knowledge of manufacturing techniques will be valuable, as you will use this knowledge when designing to ensure that the products not only function but can also be manufactured.
While a relevant degree is expected, industry experience of at least a few years will be more crucial. Thus, we welcome applications from individuals who have learned on the job, even without holding a degree.

Due to successful growth plans, a Medical Devices organization based in Cambridge is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development and improvement of life-saving Medical Devices.
Collaborating closely with other industry experts, such as electronics design engineers, software engineers, physicists, and other Medical Devices specialists, you will tackle some of the most complex challenges in the development of new Medical Technologies.
Ideally, you will have a background in developing new Medical Devices throughout the entire design life cycle, adhering to ISO 13485 standards. The Apprentice Laboratory Support Technician plays a crucial role in our laboratory's smooth functioning. They manage the stock room, order lab materials, create and keep the labs supplied with gels and buffers needed for function and help to maintain a clean, safe environment.
Their attention to detail and organizational skills ensures accurate records, efficacious reagent preparations and efficient stock management. With the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively, they support the laboratory technical team and provide a lynchpin for daily operation.
Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required. The Technician's contributions extend beyond their responsibilities, creating an excellent learning environment and making them an indispensable part of our team.
Main responsibilities:
Carry out practical laboratory work using various methods, following protocols.
Prepare buffers and Gels following standard operating procedures.
Maintain clear and accurate laboratory records.
Gather technical information as directed.
Help improve Lab support processes.
Help manage the stock room, conducting regular stocktakes.
Ensure timely ordering of lab materials from suppliers and inspecting them for quality upon arrival.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the laboratory through general cleaning duties.
Input data into the stock system to maintain accurate records.
Wash glassware and prepare materials as needed.
Handle decontamination and disposal of laboratory waste in compliance with safety regulations.
Log and sort incoming samples into the laboratory computer systems.
Report any anomalies following the stock management procedures.
Provide support to laboratory technicians when required, with full training provided.
Assist with the ordering and checking of lab materials.
Participate in general laboratory cleaning, maintenance, and safety practices.
Report any anomalies to the Laboratory Manager in adherence to protocols.

We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer for a growing Medical Devices organisation based in Cambridge. The company work on a range of different Medical Devices, providing a variety of projects and tasks in your role.
You will collaborate various Medical Devices experts, including Mechanical Engineers, Physicists, Electronics Engineers, Software Engineers, and other professionals.
