Job Description:
Our client, a leading global financial services firm in Glasgow, is recruiting for a Tax Consultant to join their EMEA Corporate Tax team on a 9-month temporary basis.
This is a senior role within the EMEA Corporate Tax team, overseeing a portfolio of tax reporting and compliance responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on the UK.
Skills/Experience:
Relevant professional accountancy or tax qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA or CTA)
Experience with UK Corporation Tax, gained in Practice or Industry
Background in financial services or an in-house tax department preferred
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Aptitude for working in a fast-changing, dynamic environment, managing a portfolio of deliverables and meeting tight deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word); experience with Oracle TRCS would be an advantage
Core Responsibilities:
Managing UK and EMEA corporate tax compliance, forecasting and provisioning
Calculating and reviewing corporate income tax and deferred tax accounting entries
Overseeing tax disclosures within financial statements
Managing responses to regulatory and tax authority audits
Coordinating quarterly effective tax rate calculations under US GAAP and IFRS
Overseeing corporate income tax return submissions
Working closely with Tax, Finance and wider business stakeholders
Managing and developing team members through coaching, training and support
Driving process improvements, automation and operational efficiencies
Building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
Managing additional tax reporting and analytical requirements as needed
