My client is a leading PI Law firm, and they are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Industrial Disease Solicitor to join the team.
As an Industrial Disease Solicitor, you will play a vital role in representing clients who have suffered from work-related illnesses or injuries. You will handle a diverse caseload of industrial disease claims, providing expert legal advice and representation to secure favourable outcomes for your clients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of industrial disease claims, including but not limited to asbestos-related diseases, occupational asthma, vibration white finger, and hearing loss.
- Conduct comprehensive investigations into clients' work histories and exposure to hazardous substances or working conditions.
- Review medical records, expert reports, and other evidence to assess the merits of each case and establish liability.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients, explaining their rights and options in clear and understandable terms.
- Negotiate settlements with employers, insurers, and other parties responsible for compensating victims of industrial diseases.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including letters of claim, court proceedings, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and mediations, advocating vigorously for their rights and interests.
- Keep abreast of developments in industrial disease law and occupational health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in industrial disease law.
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, as well as relevant case law and legislation.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to review complex medical and occupational records.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, with a client-focused approach.

We are searching for a Regulatory Counsel to join our European Legal and Regulatory Affairs team. Responsible for providing legal advice and guidance on regulatory change and implementation with reference to the European Union Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and other related regulations affecting the payments industry.
Role:
Advise on the interpretation and implementation of DORA and associated secondary instruments, as well as other relevant EU regulations, such as the EBA Outsourcing Guidelines, the EBA ICT Security and Risk Management Guidelines, NIS2 and PSD2.
Monitor and analyse regulatory developments and trends in the EU and provide strategic input and recommendations to internal stakeholders and support efforts focused on DORA compliance and readiness.
Engage with regulators, industry associations and external counsel as applicable and directed on regulatory matters affecting the company and its products and services.
Work closely with other legal and regulatory colleagues, as well as business units, compliance, risk, technology and operations teams, to ensure alignment and consistency of regulatory advice and implementation across the region, products, and businesses.
About You:
Qualified lawyer in an EU jurisdiction, with approximately 7+ years of post-qualified experience in financial services regulation, preferably in the payments sector.
Sound understanding of DORA and its implications for the payments industry, as well as other relevant EU regulations affecting the company and its products and services.
Experience with Payment Institutions and their regulatory requirements in the EU, especially in Belgium.
Desirable - Experience with the National Bank of Belgium and the Financial Services and Markets Authority in Belgium.
Desirable - Experience with international companies and localised implementation of regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, negotiation and drafting skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear and practical advice.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Fluent in English with knowledge of other EU languages an asset.

About the role
Legal Repairs Surveyors will be responsible for overseeing an individual case load consisting of live disrepair claims, party wall awards, repair diagnostic cases and referrals from repairs teams. Surveyors will also be required to undertake training and acting in an advisory capacity for colleagues in the Technical Quality team, and will from time to time be required to give expert evidence in court.
To deal with all technical aspects of cases received by the team effectively and efficiently. To carry out essential repairs, avoid liability from legal disrepair action whenever possible; alternatively where this is not possible ensure claims are effectively mitigated. Liase closely and establish good working relationships with lawyers in the Chief Executive's Directorate and other Repair sections.
Experience
HND/C Building with demonstrable post qualification experience or BSc Building with post qualification experience.
Extensive and demonstrable Building surveying experience
Ability to effectively manage a technical caseload within target deadlines.

Ability to write and prepare specifications for repairs and maintenance work and major repairs and planned maintenance contracts.
Ability to monitor budgets, prepare work programmes and assist the Senior Legal Repairs Manager in this regard.

Ability to prepare and certify interim and final payments to contractors.
