Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting teachers and students during practical work, to include setting up demonstrations and equipment, providing guidance to pupils in the development of their tasks, including the safe operation and demonstration of equipment
To assist with overseeing the work of small groups of students engaged in practical tasks, as requested by the PE coordinator/lead and under the supervision of the classroom teacher
Day-to-day support of lessons including preparing equipment, materials and teaching aids
To support with efficient organisation of the work and storage areas and to ensure the cleanliness, safety and security of these areas at all times
To assist with the delivery of extra curriculum/lunchtime activities
Supporting with classroom activities in the morning
Where appropriate for the above activities, support staff with:
Preparation of equipment, materials and rooms: setting out of equipment, organising team kits and transport for fixtures and curriculum activities
Working as a team member within your school and gaining invaluable experience
Training:
Teaching Assistant Level 3 - Apprenticeship Standard (A level)
Depending on area, you will be assigned a tutor and training will be blended - involving both virtual and face-to-face
Training will be weekly and, off-the-job training hours will be logged
You will be working with an E-portfolio (BUD System) and alongside your tutor you will be assigned a mentor from within your workplace
Following a successful Gateway meeting you will move forward for an End Point Assessment - Upon successful completion of the EPA you will achieve a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

You will assist with animal care programmes which would include feeding, watering, socialisation, training and exercise procedures and the provision of clean bedding and nesting materials, clean caging and associated equipment
You will assist with the maintenance and cleaning of animal rooms, corridors, storerooms and laboratory equipment ensuring that they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition all to a high standard
You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and in particular those relating to Animal Welfare, GLP and Health & Safety
You will ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards and liaise with management and maintenance to ensure any repairs are performed in good time
You will sanitise animal caging and associated equipment using the site Cage Wash machine, pressure washers and other equipment supplied for the purpose
You will undertake and achieve the qualifications associated with the apprenticeship framework, namely the IAT Level 2 qualification

Key responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute monthly budget reports to University departments that have transferred funds for the use of CI Core Facilities. Proactively identify and advise on potential budgetary issues
Respond to requests to set up users, groups and grants on our core facility booking portal. Ensuring the correct approvals are in place and that the appropriate rate of cost recovery has been applied, as determined by the funding source
Provide ad hoc support and troubleshooting for internal and external users of the online core facility booking system
Monitor the progress of orders and resolve queries related to purchase orders and deliveries
Liaise with suppliers to address issues such as returns, discrepancies, and delivery anomalies
Review open purchase orders and take appropriate actions to close or cancel them
Reconcile supplier statements to ensure timely invoice payments, request copies of missing invoices, and communicate disputes when necessary
Monitor outstanding customer payments by reviewing the bad debt statement and issuing payment reminders for overdue invoices
Perform additional duties as required by the Finance Managers, in line with the level and responsibilities of the post
