Apprentice Bus and Coach Technician

The successful applicant will be working on a range of busses and coaches while learning their trade to a nationally recognised standard. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking person to work in the automotive industry. 

Due to the UK skills shortage within the automotive sector, you will be the next generation of body shop technicians with the ability to adapt and change. This is a great role for someone who is willing to jump-start their career!

Task to be carried out:

Understand the fundamentals of existing and emerging mechanical vehicle design and systems Carry out routine mechanical servicing, planned preventative maintenance and “health checks” Carry out routine servicing Inspect, diagnose and repair braking systems Use diagnostic equipment and software to diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical components

Training:

The apprenticeship training is delivered via weekly block releases at S&B throughout the year, learning will also take place in the workplace and a S&B Development Coach and Workplace Mentor are allocated to support and monitor your progress to help you reach your goals and manage your workload. Your employer will pay you when you are attending weekly training blocks at S&B.

Bland’s is a bus and coach company serving Stamford, Rutland, Peterborough and the surrounding areas. We offer private coach hire, as well as contracted and local bus services. We specialise in transporting large passenger groups for local schools and colleges, community groups and businesses. Every school day we provide home to school transport for over 1450 students. The Bland’s name has been well known in Rutland and the surrounding areas since 1929. Since then, our friendly and professional drivers have been trusted to safely transport several generations of Rutland families and are a familiar sight in the local area.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 1 hour lunch break.
