LABORATORY ASSISTANT | EAST HAMPSHIRE | Part-time, Permanent

Blackfield Associates are supporting a leading British manufacturer to recruit for a Laboratory Assistant to join the organisation on a part-time, permanent basis (Monday – Wednesday, 8 hour days).

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the key responsibilities are as follows:

Maintain and grow insect cultures, including cockroaches, flies, and stored product insects. Feed, water, and clean insect enclosures while ensuring strict hygiene standards. Assist in setting up and conducting insecticide and rodenticide trials. Record and manage trial data accurately. Ensure cleanliness throughout the lab and follow safety protocols. Maintain stock levels for insect cultures and lab supplies.

To be considered for the role candidates must have strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and multi-task and be committed to high standards of lab hygiene and safety. A degree in a biological field of study would be highly desirable and prior laboratory experience would be preferable, but an awareness of laboratory work would be considered.
