Apprentice Controls Engineer
The role involves but is not limited to:-
Assist in the design and development of control systems for manufacturing equipment. Support the programming and configuration of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers). Aid in the development and implementation of HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications. Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of control systems to ensure proper functionality. Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and specifications. Help maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and software. Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in controls engineering. Provide support during installation and commissioning of new equipment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability. Attend all apprenticeship trainings and workshops to develop technical skills and knowledge. Complete all skills assessments and produce evidence to support the designated learning outcomes to achieve the qualification. Adhere to the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Including, but not limited to: Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others; co-operating with Managers or any other person, to perform or comply with any requirement or duty imposed under a relevant statutory provision; To not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare.Training:
This is a Level 3 Engineering Fitter apprenticeship, delivered over a 27 month period
The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Telford TF3 3AJ, for the first 10 months
Training Outcome:
It is envisaged to offer a role within the area of interest at the end of the apprenticeship.
