Engineering Apprentice
Operates as team member on a variety of customer and internal development projects
Works with other members of the hardware and software teams to develop and validate new automation equipment and labware
Operates CAD system, company data-management system (Agile PLM) and other business IT tools
Conducts tests on equipment and / or labware and evaluates results
Produces documentation, (eg test results reports, design calculations) and records in company’s document management system
Introduces design or process improvements where applicable, eg. assists with the generation of standard templates for calculations and / or reports
Training:
Four days in the workplace and one day a week at Warrington & Vale Royal College.
Where applicable, you may also experience business functions outside of Engineering, such as Finance, Customer Service and Sales in order to gain a full understanding of our business.
Training Outcome:
You will have gained an engineering qualification.

Azenta Life Sciences offers a wide range of consumables and instruments for various life science industries, including biobanking, compound management, consumer genomics, synthetic biology, and basic research. Our products, such as 2D-coded sample storage tubes, readers, and sample management systems, support diverse customer applications, from basic research to molecular diagnostics. We prioritize sample integrity throughout the entire lifecycle, from sample collection and preparation, through PCR analysis to cryopreservation and storage. Our temperature management systems, including workstations, modules, dishes, cryo boxes, and other essential consumables, meet the diverse needs of the life sciences sector. As an Electrical Engineer Apprentice, you will be a part of our engineering design team. This apprenticeship will offer you hands-on experience and professional development opportunities in a supportive environment. Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will be taught, and put into practice, engineering skills which will be key for an engineering role at Azenta. During which time you will rotate around the engineering teams across our business. You will undertake a series of objective training placements in different departments working on initial design all the way through to manufacture and installation.
Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5.00pm, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
