Metal Fabricator Apprentice
An average day for a metal fabricator apprentice at Solinear’s factory involves:
Morning Briefing: Reviewing job sheets and safety checks with the team Workshop Tasks: Cutting, drilling, and welding aluminium or steel components using hand tools and machinery Assembly: Assisting in assembling bespoke solar shading and façade systems Technical Skills: Learning to read engineering drawings and CAD plans under supervision. Quality Control: Checking measurements and finishes meet standards Maintenance & Clean-Up: Ensuring tools are maintained and the workspace is cleanThroughout the day, apprentices work alongside skilled fabricators, gradually taking on more responsibility as their skills develop.
Training:
You will attend York College on day release.
