Civil Apprentice
Fitting / replacing pipe work, valves, pumps, walkways & hand railing and steel structures
Decommissioning and stripping out plant rooms, boilers, pipework, heat exchangers and other mechanical mechanisms
Within the water and wastewater industry installing penstocks, open mesh walkways, biogas pipework, storage tanks and scraper systems
On site fabrication of metal parts and features, grinding and welding e.g. steel plates and frames for isolations
Test mechanical systems, equipment, apparatus using testing devices such as vibration sensors and infra-red cameras, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems
Inspect mechanical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for repair
Complete works as directed by site supervisors and project managers
Assemble, install, test and maintain mechanical equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools, test equipment and power tools
Carry out planned preventative maintenance on pumping systems equipment
Complete Point of Work Risk Assessments
Ensure clear understanding of RAMS

Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician
Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
Work based training through Activate Learning
Training Outcome:
Progression onto a full time permanant role
