Mechanical Apprentice
• Fitting / replacing pipe work, valves, pumps, walkways & hand railing and steel structures.
• Decommissioning and stripping out plant rooms, boilers, pipework, heat exchangers and other mechanical mechanisms.
• Within the water and wastewater industry, installing penstocks, open mesh walkways, biogas pipework, storage tanks and scraper systems.
• On-site fabrication of metal parts and features, grinding and welding e.g. steel plates and frames for isolations.
• Test mechanical systems, equipment, and apparatus using testing devices such as vibration sensors and infrared cameras, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
• Inspect mechanical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for repair.
• Complete works as directed by site supervisors and project managers.
• Assemble, install, test and maintain mechanical equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools, test equipment and power tools.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on pumping systems equipment.
• Complete Point of Work Risk Assessments.
• Ensure a clear understanding of RAMS.

Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm.
