Heritage Engineering Technician Apprenticeship (Classic Vehicle Coachbuilding)
This apprenticeship combines old-school coachbuilding with the use of cutting-edge technology. Apprentices will be taught about:
· The history and development of materials and vehicle construction
· Hand skills, technical drawing and pattern development and welding
· Fabrication including bending, folding, shrinking and stretching
· Wheeling, making bucks, removal and replacement of components
In addition to the above, B & C Coachmakers Ltd will involve the apprentice in paint preparation and paint techniques.
Training:
The ‘Heritage Engineering Level 3 Apprenticeship’ is a nationally recognised qualification delivered by ‘HSA’ from its Coachbuilding Academy based at ‘Brooklands Museum’ in Surrey. Delivered over 36 months on a block release basis, you will attend your academy on average every 5 weeks for a 5-day block of training running from Monday to Friday, the remaining 80% of the time you will be working with your employer. If required, your employer will cover the accommodation and travel costs.
Training Outcome:
On completion of the Programme, you will be qualified as a Heritage Engineering Technician. Employment with B & C Coachworks Ltd after completion of the apprenticeship is not guaranteed but very likely, subject to performance and a position being available.

B & C Coachworks have a particular passion for British and Swedish classic motor cars, such as Jaguar, Austin Healey, Austin Morris, MG, Riley, Ford, Triumph and of course Land Rover. The successful applicant must have a strong work ethic, a collaborative approach and an eagerness to learn from the decades of experience available within the existing team of master technicians.
