Role Overview:
As a Complex Care HCA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our clients with complex health needs. Your primary responsibilities will include PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, medication administration, wound dressing, and stoma care. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
PEG Feeding: Administering enteral nutrition via percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tubes, ensuring proper technique and hygiene.Tracheostomy Care: Providing tracheostomy care, including cleaning, suctioning, and ensuring airway patency.Medication Administration: Safely administering prescribed medications, monitoring for side effects, and documenting all medications given.Wound Dressing: Performing wound care, including dressing changes and monitoring for signs of infection or complications.Stoma Care: Managing stoma care, including cleaning, changing appliances, and monitoring for skin integrity.Patient Monitoring: Observing and recording vital signs, reporting any changes in the client’s condition to the healthcare team.Support and Compassion: Offering emotional support and companionship to clients, promoting their independence and quality of life.Qualifications and Skills:
Relevant qualifications in healthcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent).Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.Competence in PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, medication administration, wound dressing, and stoma care.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.Benefits:
