HR Manager - Food Manufacturing

Position: HR Manager– Leading Food Manufacturer
Hours: Monday to Friday 08.00 to 17:00 or 07:30 to 16:30
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum Depending on experience

I am recruiting exclusively for a HR Manager within the Food industry to work on a permanent basis working Days Monday to Friday.

The position will be to join a well-established Food Processing business based just of the M62 in West Yorkshire.

They are a large-scale business that are offering a very varied and diverse role.
As you can imagine the food industry is extremely fast paced so you need to be able to cope with the demands of working within an Food/FMCG type environment albeit this is something that can be easily picked up as you adapt yourself to the needs of the business.
My client is one of the leading food manufacturers within the Yorkshire Region employing are one of thousands of colleagues based across multiple sites
We are looking for a HR Manager with previous relevant HR experience ideally gained from a FMCG/Food environment.
A self-starter, having worked within a fast-paced environment you will have handled a high volume of HR related queries.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
You will also be able to demonstrate a proactive approach, excellent customer service, organisational and administrative skills.
A positive attitude, attention to detail and an understanding of how HR adds value will also be required.
Managing a team consisting of a HR Administrator and 2 HR Coordinators this role is heavily focused on Employee Relations.
Main responsibilities will include:
• Answering employee queries
• Arranging meetings
• Provide support to managers on a range of ER issues
• Providing support and advice in on disciplinary and grievance
• Absence Management
• Monitor and chase probationary reviews
• Running reports from the HR and T&A systems
• Systems inputting such as starters, leavers, contract changes, salary increases, equal opportunity data etc
• Dealing with employment and tenancy reference requests
• Issuing offer letters, contracts and welcome packs to potential employees
• Ensuring all documentation from the welcome pack is completed, signed, returned and the relevant data inputted onto the HR system
• Recruitment
• Ensuring staffing levels are met at all times
• Maintain and update the HR system to ensure employee records are up to date and accurate
• Full management of Maternity and Paternity including meeting with employees to explain entitlements, updating spreadsheet on a regular basis, issuing documentation to employees, keeping managers and payroll informed of leave dates and return dates etc.
The ideal candidates will:
• Have experience within a Food/FMCG environment – preferably food
• Have a good working knowledge of employment law legislation
• Be a good problem solver with the ability to identify issues and resolve these in a timely manner
• Be an excellent communicator both written and verbally
• Be able to prioritise and plan own work activities to use time effectively
• Be organised with attention to detail Be dependable and able to follow instructions and able to demonstrate the ability to work with little supervision
• Be self-motivated, highly resilient and tenacious with a “can do - will do” attitude
• Possess great all-round administrative skills with strong PC skills; ideally MS Office
• Have CIPD qualification or part qualification (preferred but not essential) to Level 5 or above
• Be able to maintain confidentiality
• Have a flexible approach to work and the ability to work with changing demands
