Work Description

To carry out repair, maintenance and improvement work, mostly of a carpentry nature, as well as work of associated trades where necessary

What you will do at work

To carry out general repair, maintenance, and improvement of the Association’s properties under the guidance and supervision of a Mentor

Where you will work:

You will be working in occupied and unoccupied properties in West Oxfordshire

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

 

Training:

Training Providers is ACE Training, based in Kidlington Oxford OX5 1JD

Your training course will include a Carpentry & Joinery Level 2 NVQ and successfully completing your End Point Assessment (EPA) to confirm your skills and knowledge. Your Apprenticeship is Equal to Level 2 (GCSE)

Your training plan = As a Carpentry Apprentice, you will attend ACE Training 1 day a week each week (day required to attend will be confirmed with your employer) 8.30 to 4.30, to develop the skills and knowledge required to complete your EPA & NVQ. These skills and knowledge will ensure you are effective in your role as a Carpenter. You will complete your NVQ Level 2, which is made up of site evidence you and your assessor collect during your time on the apprenticeship

Maths and English Functional Skills level 2 (Required if you did not pass GCSE)

After this apprenticeship

Should you prove yourself over the course of a successful apprenticeship, you could progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship and develop your skills further.

About this company Cottsway Housing is a housing association which owns and manages @ 6000 properties in West Oxfordshire and surrounding counties. This role is within the Property Services department, which includes a team of almost 60 trades operatives and apprentices, whose role is to maintain and improve the association’s properties.

Working Hours :
Hours Monday = On Site 8.00AM to 5.00PM Tuesday = ACE Training 8.00AM to 4.30PM Wednesday = On Site 8.00AM to 5.00PM Thursday = On Site 8.00AM to 5.00PM Friday = On Site 8.00AM to 4.30PM.
