Maintenance Apprentice
Gaining a full working knowledge in all aspects of maintenance, including learning to diagnose faults leading to repair as well as maintaining facilities process equipment
Assisting and supporting with planned and reactive maintenance, as well as consult with internal stakeholders and subcontractors
Complying with statutory, quality and organisational and health and safety regulations whilst carrying out manufacturing techniques
Ensuring that plant and equipment perform to the required standard to facilitate production targets regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost within a high value manufacturing environment
Working on a broad range of activities including installation, testing, fault finding and the on-going planned maintenance of complex equipment
Using and interpret a range of engineering data sources and supporting documentation
Using lean techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Where appropriate, supporting installation, testing and commissioning of a wide range of equipment
Conducting complex fault diagnosis and repair on high technology engineered systems
Maintaining mechanical/electrical equipment
Minimising machinery downtime by conducting preventative planned maintenance
Confirming testing and subsequent smooth hand over of equipment and plant
Reading mechanical/electrical schematics
Using basic hand tools
Training:
The training will take place at The Sheffield College's Olive Grove Training Centre, 1 day per week
Training Outcome:
On successful completion of the Apprenticeship, there could be an opportunity of permanent employment
