Apprentice Technician/Engineer

The apprentice will learn various skills to support the manufacture and assembly of the company's core products. The apprentice will be required to work with general workshop tools and training will be provided for their safe operations. The apprentice will be supported to move their way round all aspects of the business to gain a good understanding of each work area.

The apprentice is expected to have a good standard of numeracy skills which will be required in many aspects of the work involved. The apprentice will perform specific tasks independently once they have received sufficient training.

They will need to conform to ISO9001:2015 procedures whilst under close supervision and maintain good housekeeping. Further duties/responsibilities include:

Building and assembling gas leak detection apparatus including the use of soldering irons to assemble components, electrical wiring, variety of manufacturing tasks Testing and calibration Keeping workplace clean and tidy Opportunity to learn to use various equipment such as CNCs machines Packing skills

Training:

The candidate will follow a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a full standard as an Engineering Fitter. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West. The apprentice will report to and be supported to learn by Vaseco senior management team mentors.

The company has, in recent years, developed and refined a bespoke portable helium leak detector system. This world-leading technology and product is used in the most challenging of environments within the oil and gas, nuclear and aviation industries globally. The 14-strong team is now set to grow again with the development of a new bespoke production line, housed in its own extended premises at the company’s headquarters in Winsford. This latest growth programme has cemented the need to bring in new apprentices to the business to support the increase in business and ensure that the experience and skills of the current engineering team are shared with the next generation.

Working Hours :
8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
