Health & Safety and PSV Compliance Coordinator Apprentice
Supporting the Compliance and Health & Safety departments in ensuring that the organisation adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to health & safety and PSV (Public Service Vehicle) compliance.
Health and Safety Duties
Assist in conducting risk assessments and safety audits. Support with accident/incident investigations and maintain records. Help ensure all staff comply with company health and safety policies and regulations. Participate in toolbox talks and training sessions. Support the implementation of health and safety initiatives and culture. Responsible for ensuring that the business is fire safety compliant in all aspects of fire regulations. Foster a proactive safety culture where employees are encouraged to report hazards or unsafe conditions without fear of retaliation.PSV Compliance Duties
Assist in ensuring vehicles comply with DVSA and PSV regulations. Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance and inspection records. Monitor driver hours, tachograph data, and working time directive compliance. Support with scheduling of vehicle MOTs, inspections, and servicing. Assist in reviewing and updating company compliance procedures.Administrative Support
Maintain accurate filing systems for health & safety and compliance documentation. Prepare reports and summaries for management as required. Attend training sessions to develop competence in health, safety, and compliance matters.Training:
During your apprenticeship, you will undergo remote learning through live webinars, forums, one to ones with a dedicated learning coach. You will receive constant feedback and coaching through RHG’s team of experienced learning coaches. You will gain the Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment Technician Standard qualification, an IOSH-approved Accident Investigation Certificate (additionally, level 2 in English and maths may be required if not previously attained). You will be eligible to apply to the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) for Tech IOSH status on successful completion of your programme.
Training Outcome:
Structured training programme covering health & safety legislation, compliance standards, and operational procedures. Opportunity to gain recognised qualifications (e.g. Transport Manager CPC). Ongoing mentoring from experienced professionals in the field. Permanent position if successful.
