Engineering and Manufacturing Apprentice

Day to day tasks include:

Program + Operate CNC Milling machines Program + Operate CNC Lathe Assist with the preparation, setup, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tooling Operate manual lathes Operate manual pillar drills Learn programming languages – G-code & Heidenheim 3D CAD + CAM using Solidworks Opportunity to learn how to program + operate lasers Maintain + Repair CNC machines Maintain Tools Assist with the preparation, setup, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tooling Support process improvement projects to enhance productivity and quality Create and update technical documentation, work instructions, and maintenance records Collect and analyse production data to support root cause analysis and problem-solving Work closely with engineers to trial and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies Participate in design for manufacturing (DfM) reviews and provide feedback to design teams Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with Health & Safety regulations Attend college/training provider sessions and complete coursework and assessments

Training:

This is a Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support apprenticeship, delivered over a 36 month period.

The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Telford, TF3 3AJ, 2 and a half days per week for the first 14 months.



Training Outcome:

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will be offered a full time position with career progression and potentially further training.

Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4:30pm. Friday, 8.00am - 1.00pm.
