Childcare Apprenticeship - Whitechapel

We are seeking someone who is working towards a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join the friendly and committed team at Chicksand Preschool.

Chicksand Preschool is a vibrant early years setting for children aged 2 to 5, located in the heart of Tower Hamlets. It is a place where children can learn, play, and grow in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. We provide local families with a supportive foundation to give their children a strong head start in life, through a curriculum that celebrates creativity, curiosity, and early development.

The successful candidate will help and learn to deliver a stimulating, play-based curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and contribute to a nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality care and education in line with EYFS standards. Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s development. Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. Ensure adherence to the preschool’s policies, including safeguarding and health & safety. Promote children’s communication, social, emotional, numeracy, and literacy skills. Support children’s personal care needs, including toileting and mealtimes. Work as a key person for a group of children: observe, record progress, and report to parents. Support children with additional needs and ensure inclusive practices. Maintain strong, professional communication with parents, carers, and professionals. Attend outings and support wider preschool activities and events. You will learn everything on the job as well will train you.

It has an Ofsted Grade 2 Good rating and an overall achievement rate of 71.4%, exceeding the national average of 65.6%. Using a blended approach, learners are always at the forefront of our priorities. All learners are assigned a Personal Tutor who will be their main point of contact.

This involves regular catch-ups, check-in emails and calls. Your employer will agree to give you 20% of your working hours solely towards your study.

This will give you every chance to achieve the highest grade possible! On completion of this 18 month apprenticeship you will have gained; Early Years Educator - L3.

Training Outcome:

Possibility of a full-time role after the completion of the apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday (09:00 - 15:30).
