Network Support Engineer – Farnborough/Reading

Opportunity for a Network Engineer to join a well-establish IT organisation that provides professional services and products to defence, government and other public sector clients across the UK. You’ll be working in their technical assistance centre providing technical support whilst delivering excellent levels of service.

Responsibilities:

Provide support for Cisco routing, switching, and data centre fabric products and services Act as a technical expert in managing and resolving complex network problems Collaborate with customers, vendor, and third parties to troubleshoot and resolve issues Work in lab environments to replicate and solve network issues. Facilitate technical coordination during critical escalations and produce necessary reports Manage technical cases from inception to resolution, including vendor engagement for unresolved issues. Engage in the configuration and troubleshooting of technical issues. Review and issue field notices, PSIRTS, EOx, and Bugs as agreed with customers.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with Cisco networking and switching platforms (Nexus/Catalyst) Possess excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills Thorough understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP). Proficiency with Ethernet, VLANs, Port Aggregation, and 802.1Q Trunking. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Hold a CCNA (as a minimum) certification

Salary up to £55,000 PA with some excellent benefits.
