Residential Support Worker
Action for Children are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with physical and learning disabilities.
The Residential Support Worker will work on a rolling rota covering various shifts, including some weekends.

They will be responsible for building bonds with the children, supporting them with day-to-day personal care needs, and promoting their independence.
Key Responsibilities

Work as part of a team to provide flexible, responsive, and person-centred care to children and young people based on an assessment of their needs
Build and maintain professional working relationships with children, young people, and their families
Establish relationships and links within the community to assist the child, young person, and their family
Support children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication, and clinical procedures
Ensure that the views and needs of children/young people are heard and responded to by promoting communication and participation
Undertake routine household tasks to enable the smooth running of the home and promote independence
Contribute to the development and evaluation of care plans and input to service planning meetings where required
Refer issues as appropriate that require specialist or management support
Record observations and maintain up-to-date files (paper and electronic)

Qualifications and Experience

Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent within two years of starting.
Enhanced DBS.
Some weekend shifts on a rota basis.
Willingness to participate in relevant on-the-job or off-site training.
Ability to manage difficult situations within the remit of the job.
Knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessment.
