Mechanical DraughtspersonInsignis Talent are currently working with a multi-national Maritime Defence company, who’s broad portfolio of capabilities is operational on UK naval fleets and allied navies worldwide.

They specialise in the design, development and production of the key elements of mission critical, intelligent and highly regulated solutions across surface, sub-surface and unmanned platforms.They are currently seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join their team on a permanent basis.

At their site in Staffordshire, you will place a key role in the development of expert solutions that help shape the future of naval warfare.You'll collaborate with their engineering teams to translate concepts into precise technical drawings, ensuring seamless transitions from vision to reality.

Your responsibilities include:

Creating detailed mechanical motor drawings using industry-standard CAD tools.
Collaborating with engineering teams to implement changes in accordance with our company's change process.
Analyzing and optimizing designs for functionality, manufacturability, and efficiency.
Generating precise documentation to support manufacturing processes.
Contributing insights to design reviews to enhance drawing quality and efficiency.
Selecting materials and finishes based on project requirements.
Seamlessly working within a collaborative team environment on various projects.
Undertaking diverse mechanical drafting tasks with adaptability and versatility.
Participating in internal and external meetings to shape project directions.
Maintaining organized documentation in adherence to local operating procedures.

Key Skills/Experience Essential:

HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, showcasing strong educational background.
Collaborative mindset, thriving in a teamwork-oriented environment.
Experience in creating detailed mechanical drawings with meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in CAD software, ensuring accurate and comprehensive drawings.
Quick learner with a flexible approach to mechanical drafting challenges.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in mechanical drafting.

Desirable:

Knowledge of materials and finishes, aiding informed drafting decisions.
Experience designing mechanical components for diverse applications.
Proficiency in Solidworks.
