A leading FMCG manufacturer with 15 sites across the UK is looking to recruit a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer for its busy Thurgarton, Nottinghamshire facility. This is a hands-on role in a heavy, industrial environment with older machinery—perfect for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and tackling real mechanical and electrical issues.

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll join a dedicated and experienced team that plays a critical role in keeping production moving at one of the company's most important locations.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will:

Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding, maintenance, and repairs Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime Work with older plant and equipment including pumps, hydraulics, gearboxes, valves, and generators Conduct PLC fault finding and diagnostics Assist with planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement projects

Skills & Experience Required:

The ideal Electrical Maintenance Engineer will have:

Strong electrical and mechanical multi-skilling Experience working in heavy industry or FMCG environments Confidence with PLC fault finding (any brand experience welcome) Comfort working with older equipment in a tough environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Time-served apprenticeship preferred 17th Edition (18th Edition preferred and highly desirable)
