Test And Validation Engineer

My client is a global leader in Fire & Security prevention applications based in the West Midlands.

They are seeking a Test & Validation Engineer to join their team, developing devices used in consumer electronics devices.

The Test & Validation Engineer will work as part of a multi-disciplined R&D team based in the West Midlands.

The candidate will provide verification of the design for components and products as part of the engineering V-model.

The validation team works to deliver products ready of certification.

The Test & Validation Engineer will be responsible for:
- Undertaking validation of new products to the agreed specifications
- Contributing to the validation of existing designs in-line with production and certification requirements
- Generating Failure reports and liaising with other engineering disciplines in the evaluation of failures
- Undertaking testing and characterisation of existing and new components
- Compiling test results and generating test reports
- Diagnostics and fault finding on products, to component level

The ideal candidate for this Test & Validation Engineer will have the following:
- Experience working within an electronics or engineering company
- Ability to read schematics and understand and diagnose failed electronic assemblies
- Extensive knowledge of engineering and testing procedures
- Working understanding of electronics, datasheets, and device capabilities
- Strong technical writing skills and a working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A good communicator with the ability to present results clearly and concisely in validation review meetings
