Rent Arrears Recovery Officer
Rent Arrears Recovery Officer Temp (3 Month Contract – Room for Extension) Full Time, 36 hours per week, 9:00-17:00 Hybrid Working Available, (1 day a week in office) London - Kingston/SuttonOur client is looking for a Rent Arrears Recovery Officer to start on 08/04/2024.
The period for submitting candidates will close on the 31st March.
Main Responsibilities
To ensure the collection of rent arrears for Landlord and Non-landlord debts, through early intervention with an emphasis on personal contact with tenants.
To prevent rent arrears from escalating in line with the Council's rent collection policies and procedures in an effort to prevent serious debt and homelessness - To identify where tenants may be experiencing difficulty in meeting their commitment to pay rent (and other such bills as council tax) and be able to provide debt counselling and advice or referral to the Financial Inclusion Team.
To refer tenants to internal and external support agencies, where appropriate, to ensure that the tenancy can be sustained and the tenant is supported throughout.
Responsible for monitoring rent accounts on an ongoing basis, in order to identify cases that require further enforcement action, particularly in relation to tenants with court orders, or who have introductory tenancies.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience working in rent recovery
Experience of working with multiple agencies to deliver services for customers.
Experience of working in a customer- focused environment and achieving successful outcomes in the delivery of services that meet customer needs
Experience of being self-motivated and working within a busy, results orientated and constantly changing environment.
