Technician Scientist Apprentice
Typical duties include:
Maintaining safe work practices and adhering to all safety regulations Running laboratory testing accurately and precisely using established test methods Communicating test results to internal customers Carrying out calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of the laboratory equipment Maintaining technical knowledge through training Ensuring that procedures and documentation is maintainedTraining:
You will undertake a Level 5 Technician Scientist Apprenticeship with an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' training provider, CSR Scientific Training, which will include:
Fully recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 5 Technician Scientist On-the-job competency training Theoretical knowledge - L4 or L5 HNC/HND in Applied Science (if required)The majority of your learning will be completed online once a week with some face-to-face practical sessions (if completing HNC/HND) in Birmingham.
Upon successful completion, apprentices can apply for professional registration as a Registered Scientist, RSci, with the relevant professional body.
Training Outcome:
Whilst working at Afton you will have access to all internal vacancies. Previous apprentices have taken up permanent roles following completion, whilst others have continued to further education or progressed through different roles within the company.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday. Start between 8.00am and 9.30am and finish between 4pm to 5.30pm with 1-hour for lunch daily. Early 2.30pm Friday finish.
