Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
Mechanical Fitting and Installation:
Learn to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and installation of mechanical components. Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely and efficiently to move and position heavy materials and components. Align materials precisely and fit together parts to build more complex units, ensuring all components are correctly positioned and secured Support installations on customer sites with limited travel required. Select or modify components according to precise measurements and specifications, ensuring compatibility and functionality within the overall system. Safety and Compliance: Carry out point-of-work Risk Assessments as part of the machine build process, documenting findings and communicating them to all relevant parties. Ensure Health & Safety procedures are always observed and adhered to, following HSE rules and regulations, including the safe use of PPE. Ensure all work is completed in a safe and timely manner, reporting details to relevant supervisors and recording them. Ensure all documentation relating to HSE is correctly filed in the system.Quality Control and Continuous Improvement:
Maintain a good understanding of quality control processes. Proactively look for ways to improve processes and systems. Support quality-related issues through reporting and training. Uphold and promote the company values in all interactions.Communication and Teamwork:
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships. Promote and demonstrate Cygnet-Texkimp’s values when dealing with peers and other staff. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Training:
On-the-job training at: Cygnet Texkimp Ltd, Swan House, Kimpton Drive, off Wincham Lane, Northwich, Cheshire, UK CW9 6GG.
Off-the-job training at: Stockport College, Wellington Road, South Stockport, SK1 3UQ.
Year 1 - 1 day a week at college. Year 2 - 1 day a week at college. Years 3 and 4 are work-based assessments.Training Outcome:
Opportunities to travel UK and worldwide to install machines on customer sites as a qualified Mechanical engineer. Other opportunities to develop a career in mechanical or electrical engineering design or go into line management within an engineering environment.

Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday 7:45 to 16:30 and Friday 7:45 to 12:15. No weekend working.
