Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at St John's Primary School

Support the academic, social, and emotional development of children within the classroom Assist small groups of pupils, including those with SEND, to access learning and reach their full potential Deliver planned intervention programmes under the guidance of the class teacher or SENCO Provide care and support for pupils with physical, medical, emotional or educational needs Engage actively in lessons, helping to move children’s learning forward Supervise children during playtimes and lunchtimes, promoting positive behaviour and safety Support in maintaining an organised and inclusive classroom environment Help implement individual education plans and behaviour support strategies Maintain accurate and confidential records as required. Attend and participate in training and professional development opportunities Uphold the school’s policies and contribute to its positive and supportive ethos

Essential Skills & Attributes:

Strong written and verbal communication skills Good numeracy skills to support learning across the primary curriculum Basic IT proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office) Able to follow instructions and use initiative Organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise tasks Patient, nurturing, and committed to children’s development Enthusiastic and hardworking Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy Able to work well within a team and independently Committed to safeguarding and maintaining confidentiality

Training:

The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard qualification.



Training Outcome:

Potential full-time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8:35am till 3:15pm, with a 25-minute lunch break (Timings are non-negotiable).
