Head of Homelessness Prevention and Assessment Hammersmith, London Temporary 3 Months Full Time – HybridWe have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and dynamic individual to join a team based in Hammersmith and Fulham, as an interim Head of Homelessness Prevention and Assessment.

This is a full time temporary position, with an initial contract period of 3 months.

This role requires 4 days a week based in office with 1 day working remotely.

The Head of Homelessness Prevention and Assessment will be responsible for leading a comprehensive prevention, assessment, and advice service for all applicants in need of housing solutions.

Requirements

Significant experience of managing performance and delivering housing needs services in an authority with high demand
Experience managing a team and ability to ensure staff are effectively supervised an supported
Degree level education or equivalent experience
Continuous professional management development courses
Experience in fast-paced housing management departments
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding and knowledge of statutory, legal and contractual framework around tenancy, homeowners and shared owners’ management
Excellent knowledge of Housing and Homelessness legislation
Be IT literate with excellent knowledge of Word and Excel
Knowledge of GDPR requirements and confidentiality protocols

Role Expectations

Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure high-quality housing advice and assessments, homelessness prevention, rough sleeping initiatives, and support services
Develop corporate policies and strategies for the services while meeting organizational goals, corporate vision, and statutory obligations
Lead a team of housing advice and homelessness managers, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to policies and legislative duties
Manage overall budget for the services, ensuring value for money and completing monthly budget returns and forecasts
Provide strategic analysis and policy development for service improvement, monitoring, and review


Liaise with key internal and external partners including housing authorities, community partners, and stakeholders to address housing needs effectively
Utilize data-driven insights to assess housing needs, measure program effectiveness, and make informed decisions
Manage budgets, grants, and resources to ensure the efficient operation of housing programs
Develop corporate policies and strategies for the services while meeting organizational goals, corporate vision, and statutory obligations
Lead a team of housing advice and homelessness managers, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to policies and legislative duties
Manage overall budget for the services, ensuring value for money and completing monthly budget returns and forecasts
Provide strategic analysis and policy development for service improvement, monitoring, and review
Implement new ways to work, support culture change and ensure all compliance is set up for new systems
Prepare regular reports and updates where needed
