Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship

Promote the inclusion of all pupils within the school. Work closely with the class teacher to contribute to the management of pupil behaviour. Work with individuals, small groups and larger groups, as directed by the class teacher. Deliver intervention programmes to support specific learning needs as directed by the class teacher. Report to teachers on the behaviour of pupils during lessons and any issues arising. Establish and promote positive and productive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations. Promote the inclusion of all pupils. Liaise closely with teachers and other relevant agencies. Assist with setting out learning materials Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other relevant professionals. Effectively communicate the work set by the class teacher to the pupils, both inside and outside the classroom. Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others to ensure all pupils are engaged on the set task. Respond knowledgeably to any questions from pupils about processes and procedures. Observe and report on pupil performance and progress. Update relevant records at agreed time intervals. Ensure the health, safety and welfare of pupils is maintained at all times. Promote social and emotional development of pupils. Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures. Support the use of learning resources, including technology, in the classroom. Provide literacy/numeracy support to allow access to the curriculum. Assist with the development and implementation of provision maps for SEND children. Provide comfort and immediate care in case of minor accidents or self-care and personal hygiene issues that require attention and provide support as outlined in school policies. Collect any completed work after the lesson and return it to the class teacher as appropriate. Accompany teaching staff and pupils on educational visits. Contribute to the overall vision, aims, mission statement, ethos and work of the school. Be aware of, uphold and contribute towards the development of the school’s policies and procedures. Participate in appropriate school-based meetings and training activities. Undertake any administrative duties relevant and appropriate to this post. Take an active part in appraising their own work against agreed priorities and targets in accordance with the school’s performance management and supervision arrangements. Maintain confidentiality at all times and to observe data protection guidelines. Comply with the school’s Equal Opportunities and all other policies. Embrace any other duties that may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties, responsibilities and grade of this post.

Training:

The Apprenticeship Scheme is run in conjunction with a training provider to ensure that you are supported by a first-class training programme. You will attend a class or workshop once a week, either face-to-face or online, from one of our Adult Education Centres, located across the county, which will enable you to achieve the following qualifications: 

Teaching Assistant apprenticeship Level 3.

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours to enable you to enter the gateway for the End Point Assessment.

Functional Skills at Level 2, English, maths, if required.



Training Outcome:

Successful completion of the apprenticeship will lead to consideration for any roles that are available within the council at the time.



Employer Description:
Crich Carr C of E is a small, happy village primary school with a nursery located in Whatstandwell. We have two classes and 40 children on roll. The children are fabulous, as evidenced by the recent ‘outstanding’ awarded for behaviour and attitudes by Ofsted. We have a small, friendly and committed staff team and we support a high number of children with SEND, including EHCPs. We like learning to be fun and ensure the children enjoy as many varied and engaging opportunities as possible to ‘Let Their Light Shine.’

Working Hours :
Working Week: 8:30am - 12pm and 1:15pm - 3:15pm.
