The Role of the Medical Support Technician

Predominantly working on a range of industry leading automated dispensing systems


Mostly working in hospitals and diagnostic centres


You will provide national field service support (relevant modalities) for Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), equipment repairs and unscheduled call outs


Ensure that equipment downtime is minimal and that your PPM plans are continually monitored and actioned in a safe, timely manner


Conduct installations, to ensure that any work undertaken complies with the relevant manufacturers’ quality procedures


Assist engineering colleagues as the ‘second person’ on installation projects, modality installations, PPM activities and service call-outs



Provide service reports and all relevant supporting documentation to the Customer Service Team (CST) for traceability, further processing, and invoicing


Access spare part codes and service manuals to ensure product service/repair is in line with Manufacturers’ guidelines


Use Field Mobile App device/laptop to accurately record all work carried out


Keep accurate account of allocated stock & complete checks as required


Promote the highest standard of Service to ensure complete customer satisfaction


Most of the work will be around the South East London area although there will be time where you will need to travel nationally to assist in covering work loads.

Have good diagnostic electromechanical fault-finding skills.


Be customer focused with a courteous and professional manner.


Can prioritise your workload, work to deadlines and deal with work pressures.


Dress job smart and presentable (company branded attire is available).


Have a full clean driver’s licence.


Be a conscientious technician – recognising the importance of equipment uptime and making best considered decisions to manage each situation.


Prepare reports/documentation to a high level (methodical and accurate)


Have a successful completion of DBS checks.


Be a team player – committed to working in a team environment to deliver excellent service with your colleagues.
