Engineering Operative Apprentice (Optical)

Will be working on the production line assembling optical sights, learning all of the different roles. Will be a glass workshop preparing lens blanks and edging final components. Will be running CNC in metalwork if capable

Training:

East Sussex College will provide the apprenticeship standard which will include Knowledge, Skills, Behaviour, Diploma (if included), Functional Skills.

You will be completing a Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship where you will be required to attend day-release at East Sussex College Ore Valley campus. Day-release is one day per week, term time only.

In addition to this you will have an assessor who will visit you every 10-12 weeks at your place of work to carry out observations and progress reviews.

At East Sussex College we will ensure Health & Safety, and Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding throughout your apprenticeship program

If you are 16-18 and don’t have GCSEs grade 4 or above (or equivalents), then you will be required to undertake Level 2 Functional Skills alongside the apprenticeship. However, if you are aged 19 or over, you may not be required to complete Functional Skills, depending on your employer's discretion

 



Training Outcome:

Potential permanent full-time employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday = 9:00 to 16:30 Friday = 9:00 to 15:00
