Holt Executive are partnered with a leading manufacturer of solar panels for space and beyond who are seeking a Purchasing Director to join their team.
The Purchasing Director will be responsible for leading strategic procurement efforts, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of materials and components crucial for their space-grade products.
Key Responsibilities for the Purchasing Director:
- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans, to ensure the highest quality materials and components are sourced at the best possible prices.
- Develop and execute acquisition strategies to ensure timely availability of required materials, minimising the risks of supply chain disruptions that could impact production.
- Oversee all aspects of supplier management, from identifying and evaluating potential vendors to negotiating contracts and managing relationships.
- Work closely with other departments, such as engineering, production, finance, and sales, to ensure effective alignment of procurement strategies with organisational objectives.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and compliance standards.
Key Skills & Experience Required by the Purchasing Director:
- Bachelors degree in industrial engineering specializing in mechanical, chemical, aerospace, or related fields.
- Masters degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Professional level of English proficiency (C1).
- At least 5-10 years of experience in a similar position in the space sector.
- Candidates should possess the following technical competencies:
- Experience in the Space Sector.
- Familiarisation with ECSS standards.
