Field Service Engineer£32,000 IrlamHours - Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:00 (1 hour lunch) Friday 08:30 to 16:30pm (1/2 hour lunch) Are you a Mechanical Fitter or Field Service engineer looking for a new challenge?Do you like the idea of working for a family-owned business traveling to customer sites to service and repair equipment?This role could be for you.You do not need to have prior field experience however you will need to be open to staying away from home for up to 3 nights a week.Service EngineerThe CandidateThe successful candidate will ideally have the following skills, experience and attributes:• Experience of working in a manufacturing / service environment• Experienced working with electro-mechanical equipment• Flexible and able to work away from home including regular overnight stays (up to 3 nights per week)• Able to work autonomously or as part of a team• Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate on all levels both face to face and over the phone•  Good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace • Current ‘Safety Passport’ Certification would be preferable•  Must have full UK Driving License, ideally with clean (any points must be advised)Field Service EngineerThe Role Reporting to the Chief Service Engineer, as the Field Service Engineer your main day to day duties will be:• Working in-house and on-site at customer premises (requiring regular overnight stays)• Offering technical advice and answering customer queries• Carrying out regular preventative maintenance, breakdown servicing and commissioning both in house and on client sites• Performing diagnostic checks on any malfunctioning or damaged units• Carrying out basic electrical safety testing of serviced / maintained equipment (training on this can be provided)• Completing and submitting Maintaining / Service paperwork• Provide basic training to customers on product use when required• Carrying out routine service vehicle checks, maintenance and cleaning• Monitoring departmental / vehicle stock levels• Adhering to company safety protocols – PPE, COSHH, etc.• Presenting department development ideasWinsearch acts as an employment agency for permanent staff.
