Assistant Financial Controller – Boutique HotelRole: Assistant Financial ControllerLocation: LondonSalary: Up to £43,000I’m looking for an experienced Assistant FC to support a 5* hotel based in central Lonon.
The hotel has 39 bedrooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a bar and three meeting & event rooms for up to 100 people.The Assistant Financial Controller will assist the FM in the administration of all financial aspects of the finance and accounting function for the hotel, to ensure that all company Policies and Procedures are followed financial reports are submitted accurately and on time in compliance with statutory requirements, enforcing both internal controls and external audit requirements.Responsibilities:
Responsible and supervision of the finance team with full working knowledge to ensure that General Cashier, Accounts Payable, Purchasing/Receiving, F&B Cost Control, Payroll, Accounts Receivable (to prevent of bad debts), Income Audit and MR Hospitality – Monthly Data for financial reporting are efficiently operated.Responsible for timely month end closing including posting of month end journals for payroll, pension, cash related transactions, accruals, pre-paid account, fees and cost allocations.Ensure all journals, reconciliations, and related financial reports are filed for future reference and are signed.Preparation of bank reconciliation of all bank accounts monthly.Check, post and process all expense claims in line with the company policy & procedure and expense claims.Assist the FM in all stages leading to the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.Assist with the monthly and annual balance sheet reconciliation along with all relevant back-ups for monthly review by FM and annual review by internal/external auditors.Check all supplier payments for correctness and validity before passing on documentation to the FM for authorization.Ensure monthly FF&E/FA reconciliation is maintained and in balance along with copies of all invoices.Prepare quarterly VAT return as per prescribed deadlines.Assist the FM in preparation of annual Staff Benefits returns (P11D, PSA).
The right candidate:
Previous experience as an AFC self-accounting 5* hotel is desirable.Extensive knowledge of economics, accounting, regulations, and best practices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with industry software.Ability to collaborate and work well in a team.
