This is a new opportunity to join a company in Rugby in the position of LGV/HIAB Driver to deliver goods to customers throughout (but not limited to) Rugby / Warwickshire area.
This role is working for an established and respected employer on a full time, permanent basis.
7.30am – 5.00pm (Monday to Friday) 8.00am-12noon (alternate Saturdays).
You will be responsible for:
Supervising the loading of the vehicle so products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage
Ensuring with the Branch Manager/Yard Supervisor and Loader that the load is correct against the customers’ orders
Ensuring on arrival, the delivery is safe to make and respect customer’s property
Checking goods off with Customers and obtaining signature and print
If any errors, marking the ticket accordingly and consult with the Branch Manager or Sales Assistant as appropriate
Providing excellent customer service
Handling customer issues on delivery effectively and avoid getting over-involved in discussion
Carrying out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner
Driving the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law
Driving within the tachograph law and driver hours limits
Looking after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to any unnecessary damage
Maintaining the cleanliness of the driving cab and vehicle
Operating any vehicle mounted attachment safely and in accordance with the correct procedures
Complying with fuel directives from the Operations Department
Ensuring accidents are kept to a minimum
Reporting any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure
Completing vehicle daily inspection sheet and giving to the Branch Manager
Being aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Operations Department and Branch Managers attention if necessary
Attending essential training
Providing support in the Yard as required by the Yard Supervisor/Branch Manager
As LGV/HIAB Driver, you must have/be:
Category C, Class 2 licence is essential
HIAB licence preferred but not essential/experience would be advantageous though
Experience of multi-drop deliveries beneficial
Current CPC required
