Apprentice Engineering Maintenance Technician

Fitters are essential to the smooth operation of our business, ensuring machinery runs effectively, breakdowns are swiftly managed, and ideas for improvement are implemented. This hands-on role is your opportunity to develop technical skills and embark on an exciting career in manufacturing and engineering.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will complete our Professional Maintenance Development Programme, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to excel in this field.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Work on heavy machinery, ensuring manufacturing plants are safe, functional, and efficient. Complete daily maintenance to a high standard. Conduct mechanical and health and safety tests to ensure systems are reliable. Manage site breakdowns by identifying and repairing faults. Suggest innovative ideas to enhance production efficiency. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, prioritising safety in all tasks. Tackle tasks both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in dusty or confined spaces – full protective equipment and safety support will always be provided.

Training:
Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician standard BTEC at TDR Training, Q1, Quorum Business Park, NE12 8EX Some practical training may take place at TDR for 10-15 weeks, this will be discussed once confirmation has taken place End Point assessment

Training Outcome:

Full time position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Tarmac is also involved in road surfacing, civil engineering, and sustainable construction initiatives, supporting major projects across the UK.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, 6.00am - 2.00pm. 37 hours per week.
