Estimator

A contractor specialising in structural steel is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Salary: £40,000
Start Date: ASAP
Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site
Work Hours: 8:30 -17:00

Key Responsibilities
• Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
• Analyse materials, labour, and time requirements for a range of steelwork projects
• Collaborate closely with project and commercial teams to ensure alignment with budgets and timelines
• Prepare tender submissions and support bid processes
• Monitor costs and update estimates throughout project progression

Qualifications
• Proven experience in construction estimating, ideally within the structural steel sector
• Solid understanding of steelwork fabrication and construction processes
• Proficiency in estimating or project management software
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Effective communicator and team player
• Relevant qualifications such as HND or degree in construction management or related field
• Professional membership (e.g. RICS) would be advantageous but not essential

Project Values: Ranging from £10,000 to £500,000
