Early Years Apprentice

To support fellow educators/practitioners in delivering the setting’s curriculum and standard of practice To work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting’s staff and training provider To seek support from members of the team to assist your learning To work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children To plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care To ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care To observe, assess and record children’s learning and development progress Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each unique individual child To build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers. To adhere to and follow the setting’s policies and procedures. To attend regular team meetings To ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times To attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Setting Manager for training requirements To liaise and work in partnership with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) to support
children within the setting as appropriate To undertake any other duties as deemed necessary by the Setting Manager.                                                                                                                                                                                        Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties. The apprentice will be required to undertake any
other reasonable duties outlined by the Setting Manager.

Training:
A high level of support with monthly tutor visits and taught lessons
Work alongside qualified professionals whilst undertaking on-the-job training At the end of the course, a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification will be awarded and Paediatric First Aid

Functional Skills in English and maths if required.



Training Outcome:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship could lead to a permanent level 3 position in the nursery when the qualifications and standard is achieved.
The apprentice will also attend all relevant training courses in the setting to further develop their knowledge.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday. Working hours are between 08:00 am and 18:00pm. Work hours / shifts and day off in week to be agreed at time of appointment.
