Preceptorship Staff Nurse - Older Adult Mental Health

Offering three months free accommodation - applications are invited from enthusiastic graduate or soon to qualify Registered Nurses on both the Mental Health and Adult/General registers with a genuine committment to working with older people to join the comprehensive service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.A comprehensive one-year Preceptorship program is offered and new nurses are supported through this crucial stage of their career with the typical warmth and welcome extended to all newcomers to the Island.

The Older Adult Service has a four in-patient centres; - An Assessment Unit fpr patients over 75 usually admitted at a time of crisis (open to Mental Health Nurses only) - A Unit for patients who are deemed to have behavious that challenge and cannot be supported in their own homes (open to Mental Health, Adult/General, or LD Nurses) - A Residential EMI Unit including respite beds (open to Mental Health, Adult/General, or LD Nurses) - A Unit for patients living with complex physical health conditions including dementia and end of life care (open to Mental Health, Adult/General, or LD Nurses) - In addition to Community Day Services.

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale.

The current Guernsey Band 5 salary range is £34876 to £44981 plus an annual bonus of £1,517 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000.
