Responsible Individual (Leicester)

Tudor Employment Agency are currently recruiting for a Responsible Individual to work for our client based in Leicester (LE5).

We are looking for a committed and experienced Responsible Individual to oversee and lead the operation of 2-3 children’s residential homes in the LE5 area. The RI will play a crucial role in ensuring all homes provide high quality, safe and nurturing environments for children and young people, in full compliance with Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations.

Salary: £65,000 per annum

Duties of a Responsible Individual will include:

Serve as the Responsible Individual in accordance with The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015Provide effective leadership and supervision to Registered Managers, supporting them in achieving the highest standards of careOversee operational delivery, safeguarding, compliance, and quality assurance across multiple homesEnsure all homes meet Ofsted inspection requirements, with a clear plan for achieving or maintaining “Good” or “Outstanding” ratingsWork collaboratively with external agencies, local authorities, and professionals to ensure best outcomes for childrenLead on preparation and response for Ofsted inspections, audits, and regulatory complianceMonitor and evaluate service performance, identifying areas for development and implementing improvement plansEnsure safeguarding and child protection standards are rigorously followed and embedded in everyday practiceChampion a culture of high expectations, accountability, and continuous improvement

In order to be considered for the role of Responsible Individual:

At least 3 years’ senior leadership experience in children’s residential servicesDemonstrable knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and regulatory complianceQualified to Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)Proven track record of managing multiple services or supporting several Registered ManagersExperience achieving positive outcomes for children and improving Ofsted ratingsStrong organisational, leadership, and interpersonal skillsEnhanced DBS clearanceFull UK driving license with flexibility to travel across sites

Desirable:

Experience as an RI already registered with OfstedDegree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant fieldKnowledge of therapeutic or trauma-informed models of care

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm (on call support is required for this role)
