Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor
A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible.
The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide a range of Building Inspection services in relation to the maintenance of housing stock, including ensuring that such works are carried out in accordance with procedure and specification.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
carry out pre-inspection of repairs to tenanted and void properties within defined timescales, set targets, schedule repairs and raise orders.
monitor repairs to tenanted and void properties including liaising with the contractor where necessary in respect of progress and variations.
post-inspect completed repairs to tenanted and void properties to ensure work is satisfactory and to required standard and authorise charges
provide a front facing repairs service, liaising with tenants and resolving repair issues in a professional and efficient manner
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a minimum of 3 years’ experience in domestic building maintenance, a HNC or ONC in a building related field and a full driving licence and access to a car.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Must be conversant with current legislation and statutory requirements relating to building and inspection works.
Excellent keyboard skills and the ability to use a variety of IT systems to record and process data accurately and efficiently.
The ability to adapt to new systems and procedures and to help colleagues use these effectively.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £28 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
