Property Maintenance/Premises apprentice

Key responsibilities in the role of Property Maintenance Operative include:

Conduct routine maintenance tasks, and minor planned and responsive repair works, using a range of skills including carpentry, joinery, plumbing, plastering, brick and block work, external works and associated finishing trades including tiling, painting, and decorating Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, materials, components, fixtures and fittings, choosing the right tools and materials for the task at hand. Assist in ensuring that the work carried out is compliant with health and safety requirements, and meets building safety regulations and legislation. Understand the mechanism of buildings including electrical, plumbing, plant, building safety systems, and equipment. Assist in providing appropriate, cost-effective maintenance and repair response following investigation and fault finding

Training:

The training will be in the workplace and one day a week at MITSkills Brentford/Syon Lane training centre.



Training Outcome:

Once the apprenticeship is completed the apprentice may wish to pursue trade specific qualifications.

36 hours a week, Monday – Friday (one day a week at College, Day Release). Actual hours TBC
