Early Years Educator Apprentice
To interact and engage with the children of the nursery, actively helping them to develop a curious and open approach to learning
To display a willing and hands-on attitude when partaking in all duties related to the daily routines required of the room. Non-exhaustively, such duties include the provision of conscientious supervision of the children at all times, assistance in the children’s washing and changing, promotion of high levels of personal hygiene amongst adults and children, and the cleaning of both their own and of shared environments
To be responsible for promoting best practice at all times
To actively promote positive relationships between all adults and children of the Nursery
To communicate clearly with all parents/carers, finding different ways to welcome and involve them as much as possible in their children’s care and education at Nursery
To attend and partake fully in all parent and carer's evenings/sessions, working with the Room team to ensure that these meetings are a warm and welcoming forum in which the normal day-to-day practitioner to parent/carer bond is strengthened
To attend training courses and effectively disseminate new knowledge to fellow team members
To be responsible for assisting in the creation of a stimulating and attractive room environment
To participate fully in the Nursery’s Key Worker system, ensuring each Key Child’s learning journey folder is up-to-date at all times and that input towards room planning is contributed
To observe each child’s progress and report on achievements, looking for progression and continuity
To liaise with external agencies and professionals in order to practice a joined-up approach in ensuring we, as a setting, provide the very best possible for each of the children in our care.
Training:
The majority of the learning will occur within the workplace, with 1 day per month mandatory college attendance for assessor-led workshops.
Training Outcome:
We would very much like to be able to offer a full-time, qualified role to our apprentices upon the completion of their studies. This will be subject to the apprentice’s performance throughout their tenure at the nursery, and the setting’s staffing requirements at the time.

Working Hours :
8 hours per day between 7:30am and 6pm (8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm, for example, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break).
