Apprentice Responsibilities:
As an Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you'll become a key part of the team that keeps IAAPS running smoothly. Here's what your role will include:
Help keep machinery and equipment in top condition to ensure smooth operation Continuous Improvement: Assist with upgrading systems and processes to make things run better, including facility upgrades Hands on Learning: Be involved in project setups, changeovers and repairs Maintaining safe working areas and best practice standards within the test facilities Shadowing more experienced colleagues working on various projects to develop knowledge, skills, and experience Rotating around different departments and sectors such as mechanical, electrical and machining Providing an overall project support role Ensuring day to day facilities tasks are taken care ofTraining:
Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
Mechatronics maintenance technicians carry out a broad range of activities which may include installation, testing, fault finding, rectification, modifications and the on-going planned maintenance of complex automated equipment.
This requires the application of a blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines.
Training is carried out by Weston College:
Year 1 Semester 1 - Delivered 5 days per week until January Year 1 Semester 2 - Delivered 3 days per week Year 2 - Delivered 1 day per week at College Year 3 - Delivered in the workplaceTraining Outcome:
