Care & Support Worker Isle of Wight – Freshwater, Ryde, Newport & Bay Area 35 hours per week 3 month temp to perm contract £12.50 p/h / £22,750 One of the largest Housing Associations in the UK is recruiting for a Care & Support Worker to provide personalised care to residents across the Isle of Wight on an initial temp to perm basis.The Service This Care & Support Worker post is based in schemes and services, located in Freshwater, Ryde, Newport and the Bay area of the Isle of Wight.The Role The focus of this Care & Support Worker is to work as part of a team providing personalised care and support to residents and people who use our services in line with established care and support plans.
As a support and care worker you will work with older people, frail elderly, people with a learning disability and autism, people with mental health issues and people with complex needs.
The role of care and support worker role, provides services in supported housing schemes, extra care schemes and community based services.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
Provide care to residents and people who use our services, as identified in their person centred care plan.
This may include some intimate personal care.
Deliver care in a way which promotes independence, rights, choices and inclusion in the community.
Summon professional assistance in the case of an emergency.
Practice within the criteria set out in the Care Quality Commission standards ensuring residents have an up-to-date care plan and risk assessment which reflects their individual needs and wishes.
Key-working (one-to-one) duties, as required.
Maintain and develop professional relationships.
Ensure residents are respected and treated with dignity.
Provide assistance with the security of the resident’s home, and provide support with maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Follow health and safety policies and procedures at all times, including food hygiene, manual handling, medication administration and infection control.
Monitor the health and wellbeing of residents and people who use our service.
The Candidate No experience is required for this Care & Support Worker role as all training will be provided.
However, you will need the below characteristics to excel in the role:

Due to the nature of clients you will be supporting in this role, you will require an enhanced DBS.The Package This is a temp-to-perm Care & Support Worker role, on an initial 3-month contract, working 35 hours per week.
The purpose of the vacancy is to cover the recruitment process for a permanent staff member, but if you are successful in the role there is a strong chance the contract will become permanent beyond 12 weeks.
