This role will see you visit a number of our client sites across the UK supporting on the training and development of young engineers into the industry.
This role would suit an experienced engineering assessor who has a background monitoring and assessing learners.
Applications are also very welcome from individuals interested in the role coming from an industry background.
Most client sites are based in the Midlands, those in this region will be best located for travel.Main Responsibilities
Manage the achievement of learners to meet the ‘Individual’s Learning Plan’ targets.
Maintain monitoring visits/Learner reviews on a frequency that does not extend outside 10 weeks.
To monitor, review and assess learners, ensuring they have access and opportunity to achieve the requirements of the standards set out in their individual learning plans.
To assess learners progress by various means of assessment and provide progress feedback and progress reports to learners and managers, to include identifying where appropriate learners at risk.
To provide learners, colleagues, parents and employers with timely, accurate and constructive feedback on learners’ achievement, progress and areas for development that aids the learner’s progress.
To ensure the health and safety of learners and staff is paramount with the Centre’s health and safety policy.
To maintain learner records such as Section Tracking, MIS Database, Section Reports etc.
as required.
Review and record vocational achievements against Standards.
Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure successful completion of development competence/NVQ, Functional Skills and Technical Certificate, as appropriate.
Carry out monitoring of provision through quality audit in accordance with schedules.
Maintain ‘Continuous Personal Development’, keeping up to date with professional, lead and awarding body standards.
Support Learners and employers with End point assessment.
Knowledge/Skills
Level 4 Qualification within Engineering, National Certificate or higher or NVQ Level 3 in skills specific area
Industrial engineering background is essential, combined with knowledge of the current industry and best practice standards.
Previous experience in a similar role including assessment of learning plans within engineering is desirable.
Assessor Qualifications A1 and V1 would be advantageous
Good presentation and communication skills
Good IT Skills and great attention to detail
Benefits
37.5 hour week, full-time.
Core Hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00-16:30 and Friday 08:00-13:30.
