Specialist Support Worker East Durham – Esh Winning, CrookFull-time and Part-time positions are availableDo you want to support young people’s learning and personal development?Do you want to make a difference in young people’s lives?Would you like to work with our innovative team that values honesty, commitment, flexibility, integrity, and a great sense of humour?A driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this roleExperience is desirableApply now if you want to make a difference The RoleNational Care Employer of the Year is looking for full-time and part-time Specialist Support Workers to join the team in a specialist Transitions Project in the County Durham area.As a Specialist Support Worker, you will provide additional supervision and support to help young people live their lives safely and help them to acquire essential life skills i.e., understanding benefits, budgeting, cooking, and accessing education or training.Dependent on experience & qualifications, £26,200 - £30,920 projected including sleeps per annum (£22,000 - £24,920 basic plus £50 per sleep) Shift informationSpecialist Support Worker Shifts are on a 3-week rolling rota, including waking nights, evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays, and sleepovers.
Flexibility is required due to the nature of the job.
Sleep-in allowance is paid.
Overtime is sometimes available.

Essential Requirements:A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (Children) or equivalent (or willingness to work towards);A driving licence and access to a vehicle;Previous experience of working with: Looked After Children, 16-18 years old; youth offending; care leavers; substance/alcohol misuse;Candidates must be committed to the role and flexible as will be required to work shifts including; evenings, weekends and some nights as part of a rota.
