Principal Test Engineer
Holt Executive are partnered with an innovative and leading design and manufacturing business that specialises in electro-optics and supplies to a variety of markets across the globe.
Due to continued growth, they require an experienced Principal Test Engineer to lead and mentor their skilled Test and Development team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities for the Principal Test Engineer:
- Have demonstratable innovative test and development knowledge of complex Electro-Mechanical mechanisms.
- Define test objectives, prepare and execute production unit-level tests along with full system-level functional tests.
- Perform as technical lead to comprehensive aspects of product design and provide leadership and technical direction within the Test team.
- Produce quality solutions to validate products in line with budget, time and quality requirements.
- Provide capital forecasts for new projects based on information provided as well as identification of all assumptions.
- Lead and work in collaboration with the test team to improve current test methods.
- Provide input to respective design authorities for successful DFM execution.
- Be responsible for leading and developing the test engineers through the new product development process.
- Have extensive experience and knowledge of test equipment and methods.
- Coordinate with wider engineering teams during the early stages of product design to ensure production tests are met.
- Support the Quality department on technical queries during 8D investigations.
- Work with project managers and sales teams to provide time estimates for test activities and support the teams with bids and quotations.
Key Skill & Experience for the Principal Test Engineer:
- Possess excellent knowledge of testing electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
- Be able to write comprehensive test plans and factory acceptance tests for new product launches.
- Possess an HNC or equivalent in Electronics & Control Engineering.
- Be able to manage multiple priorities with flexibility and enthusiasm.
- Be able to lead the team with the ability to liaise and work collaboratively and cross-functionally with all key stakeholders internally and externally.
